MS Projects integrated SUMUM’s architectural hardware, a universal line of plastered switches, called MATĀ . Grown with respect for tradition and craftsmanship, MATĀ combines the beauty of wall finishes with architectural simplicity in a timeless manner. designed in collaboration with Studio STRAF and honored with the prestigious Red Dot Product Design 2024 Award. With a Dark Bronze finish and minimalist, rounded 'bullet' push buttons , the switches blend seamlessly into bespoke headboards and textured walls. They prove how technology can support good design without disrupting it.
Creative professionals often strive to balance innovation with visual calm, an understated elegance that is essential for modern living. In their own home in Anzegem, West Flanders, Michiel Sulmon and Célestine De Wintere of MS Projects achieved exactly that: an atmosphere of pure serenity.

SUMUM is a Belgian brand focused on detailed, customizable smart switches. The collection combines advanced functionality with a profound respect for craftsmanship and interior architecture.
For MS Projects, this balance was essential. They sought hardware that met high technical standards while preserving the soft, inviting character of their home. SUMUM’s design language, with its strong focus on natural warmth and purity, perfectly aligned with that ambition.

To support the home’s serene atmosphere, Sulmon and De Wintere selected the SUMUM MATĀ collection in Dark Bronze. This tone brings depth, natural warmth, and a subtle sense of character to the space. The sophisticated use of brass, paired with the distinctive rounded MATĀ 'bullets', gives the hardware a pure, sculptural look. It is a design that does not demand attention, but rather radiates an understated tranquility.

What makes this project stand out is the precision of its integration. The hardware design flows perfectly into the architecture.
In the bedroom, SUMUM outlets and switches are built into bespoke, fabric-finished bed walls and headboards. This keeps the technology effortlessly accessible, while maintaining the softness of the design. Elsewhere in the home, the MATĀ hardware is integrated into walls finished with textured paint, resulting in an incredibly clean and minimalist aesthetic.

The Anzegem residence demonstrates what happens when custom interior design, careful coordination, and architectural hardware work as one. MS Projects created a home that feels warm, tailored, and exceptionally sophisticated.
SUMUM played an important role in that outcome. With customization options that respect the designer’s vision, the MATĀ collection ensures that technical elements enhance the overall aesthetic.
