The Poetry of Detail: Tristan Montabord-Marc x SUMUM

Some interiors speak loudly. Others whisper with confidence. Tristan Montabord-Marc's latest realization belongs to the latter category. Rooted in a philosophy of timelessness, authenticity, and meticulous craftsmanship, this project demonstrates how carefully considered details can elevate a space beyond aesthetics into something deeply personal.

The featured space is Montabord's own showroom in Brussels, located on the prestigious Avenue Louise. Here, the designer's philosophy is not simply presented but fully lived, offering visitors an intimate encounter with his vision.

For Tristan Montabord-Marc, every element must justify its presence. Materials, proportions, textures, and finishes are selected not to follow trends, but to create enduring environments that remain relevant for years to come. It is within this pursuit of permanence and precision that the collaboration with SUMUM naturally found its place.

The Pursuit of Meaningful Simplicity

Central to Tristan Montabord-Marc's work is the belief that true luxury resides in thoughtful choices. Spaces should feel intuitive, authentic, and quietly sophisticated. This philosophy is reflected throughout the showroom, where every detail serves both a functional and emotional purpose.

Set against the elegant backdrop of Avenue Louise, the space becomes a living testament to this approach, a place where restraint speaks with quiet authority.

Architectural Hardware as a Design Statement

For this realization, the MATĀ collection in Dark Bronze was selected to complement the material palette and architectural language of the interior. The MATĀ collection is the result of a collaboration with Studio Straf . The formal purity of SUMUM's switches, combined with the tactile quality of their finish, aligns seamlessly with Tristan Montabord-Marc's design approach.

Rather than drawing attention to themselves, the switches integrate naturally into the architecture, becoming part of the spatial experience within the Brussels showroom.

A Shared Appreciation for Craftsmanship

Beyond aesthetics, the collaboration is rooted in a shared appreciation for craftsmanship. Tristan Montabord-Marc attaches particular importance to working with artisans whose expertise and dedication bring authenticity to every project.

This commitment resonates strongly with SUMUM's philosophy. Handmade finishes, precise detailing, and the human touch behind every product create a level of character and sincerity that cannot be replicated through industrial production alone.

As Tristan Montabord-Marc explains:

"SUMUM switches embody this ambition through their formal purity, precision of gesture and refinement of materials, reflecting a demanding approach that resonates with my own: the pursuit of detail that gives meaning."

The Authenticity of Human Hands

The result is an environment where every detail matters, where simplicity is elevated through craftsmanship, and where design becomes a lasting expression of authenticity. Within his own showroom on Avenue Louise, Tristan Montabord-Marc offers more than a display of finished work. He invites visitors to experience design as a considered, deeply personal language.
